After a long time of 7 years, government of Assam decided to conduct a TET (Teachers Eligibility Test)examination to full fill vacant teacher’s posts in various schools across the state. The department related to this examination decided to conduct both Lower Primary (LP) and Upper Primary (UP) level TET. Online applications are invited from all eligible residences of Assam.
Assam Teacher Eligibility Test 2019 is scheduled to be held on October 20, 2019, in 33 districts. Candidates who wish to become teachers of LP (lower primary) or UP (upper primary) can appear and qualify Assam TET exam. The result of this exam will be valid for 7 years from the date of announcing. Interested and eligible candidates have to apply online in order to appear in the exam. Assam TET Recruitment 2019: Details

Name of Examination: Assam Teachers Eligibility Test, 2019

Examination Language: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Hindi, English
Duration of Examination: 2 ½ hours (150 Minutes) for Paper-I and 2 ½ hours (150 Minutes) for Paper II. Additional 20 minutes time (per hour) will be there for visually impaired candidates.
Minimum Marks for qualifying in TET: A candidate is required to score 60 % i.e. 90 marks out of 150 to qualify the Teacher’s Eligibility Test (TET). However, for SC/ST (Hills)/ST (Plain)/OBC/MOBC/PWD (PH), there will be relaxation of 5 %. Thus, for these candidates, qualifying marks will be 83 out of 150 i.e. 55 %.
Application Fee:- Candidates need to pay an amount of money as application fee to complete the application procedure.

Assam TET Eligibility Criteria

Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam and also need to full fill below provided academic qualifications.
Minimum Qualification for appearing in Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V):- Any one from below
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
  • Graduation and two year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) obtained from any recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I to V, provided the person so appointed as teacher will have to mandatorily undergo a six month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by NCTE within two years of such appointment as primary teacher.
A person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February, 2011, may also apply for TET. However he can apply for appointment only after acquiring all the required qualification.
Remark: Candidate those who were admitted in D.El.Ed program before 31st August 2009 please refer to Clause B under subheading Relaxation of official notification.

The Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Lower Primary level (classes I to V)
Structure and Content (All Compulsory)

(i) Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory)
Number of Questions: 30 MCQs
Marks: 30 Marks

(ii) Language I – Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, Manipuri, Garo, Nepali, Karbi, Hmar (compulsory-any one)
Number of Questions: 30 MCQs
Marks: 30 Marks

(iii) Language II – English(compulsory)
Number of Questions: 30 MCQs
Marks: 30 Marks

(iv) Mathematics
Number of Questions: 30 MCQs
Marks: 30 Marks

(v) Environmental Studies
Number of Questions: 30 MCQs
Marks: 30 Marks

All(150) questions will be of MCQ type; each question will carry 1 mark.

The Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for Upper Primary level (classes VI to VIII).

Paper II –Mathematics & Science or Social Science (Studies) (for class VI to VIII):

(i) Child Development & Pedagogy (compulsory)
Number of Questions: 30 MCQs
Marks: 30 Marks

(ii) Language I – Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Bodo, Manipuri, Garo, Nepali, Karbi, Hmar (compulsory-any one)
Number of Questions: 30 MCQs
Marks: 30 Marks

(iii) Language II –English (compulsory)
Number of Questions: 30 MCQs
Marks: 30 Marks

(iv)
(a) For Mathematics and Science teacher : Mathematics and Science Or
Number of Questions: 60 MCQs

(b) For Social Studies teacher : Social Studies Or
Number of Questions: 60 MCQs

(iv) (c) For any other teacher – either iv (a) Or iv (b)

All(150) questions will be of MCQ type; each question will carry 1 mark.

Duration of examination:


2 1/2 hours (150 Minutes) for Paper-I and 2 ½ hours (150 Minutes) for Paper II. Additional 20 minutes’ time (per hour) will be there for visually impaired candidates.
